It took me awhile before I became accustomed to Kurzel's style, but it proved to create more of an emotional backbone to what is already a heavy story. It's not a particularly fast moving film either, but its unsettling atmosphere of a lived in medieval Scotland makes up for that. Macbeth, the Thane of Glamis, receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Beautifully filmed and well acted adaptation of the classic play.
