We particularly loved the singing! We have arranged instead for a boat transfer for our guests that will leave from Pacific Harbor. We landed at Kadavu Airport and were greeted by Sim, Sicco and Liz, the owner, who all gave us a very warm welcome. Many thanks to the staff, Richard and our fellow travellers for the company and lovely conversations. It was like a family atmosphere to stay there being so well taken cared of.

We would stay in the available Bures as well. It is very remote, it’s a little wild, and it’s somewhat hard to get to – but that’s exactly the point. There are so many thoughtful touches that make this stay memorable. Rest assured that Oneta Resort remains open for business and ready to accept guests! There are a myriad of activities we didn't get a chance to explore but that's more of an incentive to come back. We cherish the time hiking to the waterfall, snorkelling with Manta Rays, having picnics and exploring the resort and surrounds with the best coral reefs in the world. Hidden away on an island with no roads we can truly say that it’s one … We had massages and also went diving. There is so much to DO – snorkel, dive, fish or swim with the mantas. It is very remote, it’s a little wild, and it’s somewhat hard to get to – but that’s exactly the point. We were totally spoiled by the extremely friendly and helpful staff always smiling and greeting you and always there to help. Vinaka Vaka levu! If you are high maintenance, addicted to TV, need 24-7 phone reception, rely on hair dryers and can't live without deep fried fast food, this probably isn't your perfect destination. Martin was incredibly helpful when we were booking our trip, answering our many questions promptly. Getting to meet like-minded travelers from all over the world (Italy, Austria, US, Scotland...) was another great experience, where we all got to share a piece of our culture during the kava ceremony. The "service" if you want to call it that - it felt more like being taken care of by dear friends on a wonderful visit - returning to a immaculate room decorated with hibiscus flowers after diving or snorkeling on the healthy, diverse coral reefs of Astrolabe, with great reef fish diversity, white-tipsOneta’s natural beauty and character provided a sanctuary in which we long to return.
I can honestly say our time at this resort exceeded all of our expectations. The amazing food was also way beyond our expectations- who would expect a tiny island in Fiji to serve food of fine-dining quality?

We loved every second of this experience. I am very thankful as my antibodies (one inflammation marker for my illness) decreased during that time (I tested in October and November) so I know for a fact they were very diligent. Ono Island is part of the Kadavu group of islands. The view from villa Lai Lai was stunning. Oneta Resort is a small family run eco-resort on one of the most untouched and beautiful islands in Fiji.
The location is breathtaking, the staff are phenomenal, the food is fantastic, there are plenty of stunning adventures to be had or you can relax without an ounce of guilt.

Our only critique is we wished there were more breakfast options as cereal and toast every morning got slightly repetitive. We chose Oneta as we felt we would have a personalised experience and we were not disappointed. From the minute we took the small plane from Suva, we knew we were in for a treat. Oneta is situated on a beautiful piece of beachfront land on Ono Island. The accommodation is sparsely scattered which makes it so private. Oneta Resort on Ono Island is a small family run eco-resort on one of the most untouched and beautiful islands in Fiji. This was a beautiful thing to see.

I was provided with almond milk at breakfast and for my room when I asked. With … I felt they were genuinely having fun at work with guests and their colleagues. Hidden away on an island with no roads Oneta is a peaceful haven for any kind of traveler. Hidden away on an island with no roads, very few tourists, and world class diving, we can truly say that it’s one of the few places in the world where you can still find both quiet solitude and true adventure.
