The bachelor basically "test drives" 25 different women during the course of the show, and each one of the them tries their best to get this guy to marry them. What I also can't get over is how much we have declined as a nation and as a culture to the point where ridiculous "shows" like this continue to be successful. I am sorry, but I just can't get over the fact that this show has been running since 2003. A further revelation from Walter, the eldest of the group, makes the men think further about life in general.

They take one hunk and put him in a house with a bunch of hot girls and eliminate them to find his "true love"? He doesn't have genuine feelings for any of them, he's horny. Menu.

I think people who give this show negative reviews are under the mistaken impression that it should be something other than trash. Is the dating scene REALLY this BAD that one must resort to competing on a 'reality television show' in order to find that 'perfect match'? Does this guy really expect to find love in like, a month? The girls on this show are shallow, superficial, plastic, bimbos who are all looks and no personality. So disappointed, every season the crazy one, or the rude over aggressive on stays! Honestly? Most or all of these people on The Bachelor are fame-hungry monsters who try to pull on people's heart strings by adding children onto the show. Many of the seasons couple ends up breaking up within several weeks (at least 3 season couples do), and many others breaking up within a year. He works hard, goes to night school four days a week, and doesn't spend much time with his pregnant wife, Helen. Ok, ok, so it IS a little pathetic. It took Hollywood forever to showcase Lucy Liu, Hallie Berry, Selma Hayek or any pretty minority for that matter. Are these women trying to tell me that they can't find a decent guy without the help of a "reality" show?? I can't fathom any good reason for wasting an hour of my life watching them, never mind a whole season. What would we say about him in real life? I don't even think that the first guy is going to marry the girl he chose. The women pull out all the stops in order to try to get this accomplished, regardless of how they really feel about him.
