The Artic Air Cooler does not use Freon or any other chemicals, so you can be sure that you or your family is not being exposed to anything harmful when using the cooler. Within an hour it turned itself off 4 different times. Anything bought and sent through the mail can be abused easily and since these have moving parts, handling it yourself will make sure it gets to you in good shape.
