My personal issue with it is that it is effectively the same size as Sanhok due to all the water but the circle is half the size meaning you often end up well outside and due to the lack of cars lucky to make it in. Gun fire sounds like...I don't know....normal gunfire?
See, our systems effect how the game is played, perceived and experienced. If I open a YT video or Twitch, the volume is just fine. If you don't like what is presented, then quit out and join another lobby and hope you get one you do. You have a bad one. I only ever play it in squad/duo games and spend most of my time in the first two circles trying to get my team to stop looting while wasting meds while they do so. How loud are gunshots?

Just normal, like any other game I've ever played. Beyond that, it is one of our favorite maps and we avoid it because of that. Even when I turn this off and just go with raw sound, the wind noise overpowers my own voice, and every other ambient-type sound in the game (e.g., footsteps, doors, etc.).

But that's the deal for me and many others out there. Maybe what he is saying is that this is by design and the developers don't care, as they shouldn't. And yes, I have to completely mute my in-game sound during red zones. It's smaller than Erangel and Miramar, making vehicles much less necessary for moving about the map.
With my XPlosion 7.1 Cinema and Creative 7.1 speakers ... 58 is a low grumble. I thought it was a stupid thing to put into the map to begin with.
It is LAME how often you win a fight, are wounded, and then just die from 1 sniper shot as you loot body, or heal, or run to cover.
I cannot hear footsteps at all, and I can't hear my teammates when they talk in game or in Discord.
The only other sound that is borderline too loud is the Mirado car on Miramar. Vikendi would be much better if it was the same size as the other two big maps.
This is constant on Vikendi, moreso than other maps due to excessive sniper rifles spawning and the wind noise making it harder to know some guy might be creeping up to ambush you. There are hundreds of posts here and on Reddit about the issue, but some (like you) find it necessary to come and tell the countless other players that there is nothing wrong with the wind noise. If the reduce the snipers by 6.5X and AR's back to (or very close to) what it was before then I will start playing it again. Personally, we don't play it often because it causes your FPS to go to sub 60 from 150+ way to often. With my XPlosion 7.1 Cinema and Creative 7.1 speakers ... 58 is a low grumble. Mirado is obnoxious, but to be honest I have experience with muscle cars and they are loud when you stomp on the pedal. On top of having like very few ARs as well.

and from what I can see it never recovered from that. All rights reserved. The wind noise is there to make it harder to hear your opponents, the frame drops are not there to make it harder to see and actually fight your opponent. I suspect that a lot of players don't enjoy it because it's basically Erangel without grass or that everything looks the same. When you have thousands of people saying that the wind noise is too loud, maybe there is indeed a problem that's not as simple as "turn down your volume" or "turn up your brightness" (for someone complaining it is too dark, as an example). Devs can always tone down ambient noise and work on fps drops, etc. Difference is that they don't purposely, at least I hope they don't, make our frames drop to sub 20's randomly to change the dynamics of the game play.
