What i liked about this film is that they displayed a diverse look at latinos,race and cultural differences, where as some movies that feature latinos only show a one sided view of Latino people. yesterday i watched mamita and E.J played his character very well. I think the actors they chose to tell this story acted honestly and made me forget that i was watching a film because i saw people who look and act like the people i've always grew up around. You know that I can't do this on my own. With E.J. The high school centennial dance is coming but Nicole gets dumped. Their love was so sweet and authentic. It's sweet, funny and beautiful. The love story between the two main characters was true and believable. They visit each other's worlds. The day Jordin is suspended from school for insulting a teacher, he meets Felipa, a bookish, no-nonsense New York girl who sees past the swaggering facade. I liked that it showed the reality of poverty but allowed the kids to be kids. This is a great movie that depicts how in fact we are one way related to each other and affected differently (whether knowingly or not) by catastrophic events that occur.Keep track of everything you watch; tell your friends. I loved this movie because it is during the time of 9/11. Don't expect too much out of it like a Hollywood movie. It's hard to be an urban afrolatina and to never see people who look and talk like you in hollywood productions.
