Any time of the day is perfect to visit the many bars at the Hotel Platinum Yucatan Princess, whether in the hotel, by the pool or right on the hotel’s private beach. BEACH: We were worried about people saying that the beach had a lot of seaweed but hotel staff would work hard to clean up in the morning. The water had rocks in it (not the hotel’s fault) but the sister hotel water was very nice. It was more adult-oriented jokes which was fun as opposed to lame kid-appropriate activities like some other hotels. We went to sister hotel’s buffet and although it did have more variety (bigger hotel), the ambiance was chaotic and unpleasant. The disco of the sister hotel was more lively as they have more people in that resort - but it does get trashy.

Characterful bars that you’ll love instantly.

Examples include towels not replaced (simply taken away), garbage not taken out and the fridge not replenished with water bottles or soft drinks (we’d basically have to call every day once we returned to the room). Something else to make note of is the delicious à la carte restaurants on the resort.
