It would draw as much notice as a Tiefling with major demonic manifestations and it's one of the weaker race options. Kobolds are creatures of the dark, found most commonly in enormous underground warrens or the dark corners of the forest where the sun is unable to reach. Be a kobold street comedian whom everybody laughs at and doesn't fear. There are a couple kobold-only feats, including the line to dragon paragon (which lets him actually fly, breath fire etc) and a few buffs against debuffed foes, but nothing too impressive.If you think giving a free feat is too much, limit it to one of the kobold-only feats and he should be fine.This person understands the true majesty of what a good kobold character can be.Thanks, I read it all. Her name was Lezru, but she went by the stage name Strikes Twice.Consider the Jester alternate racial trait and the Street Performer bard archetype. You can have him be a trickster like his kobold nature would lead, or a honest, legitimate admirer of dragons - there's even an archetype for that, called Finally, there's also an even more interesting way to go: wrap him in exotic, expensive clothes, build him with maximized disguise/diplo/bluff, and have him to present himself as a young, powerful prince of a mythical, draconic land, who's taking an adventurous vacation around here - a kobold that well versed and well clothed certainly can't be a local, and the dragonprince will get not only curious looks but also a much more positive attitude in general.On an optimization standpoint, well, I would give kobolds an extra feat, like humans, to add versatility and bring him to a more acceptable level without removing the defining flaws of the small race. I don't see how anyone can read about kobold warrens in Races of the Dragon and think, "Yes, this race is clearly frail and sickly and not suited to hard labour.
