For gardening enthusiasts, the village has a communal vegetable patch with an allotment available to each resident.Situated on a flat, sheltered plateau, 22 kilometres south-west of the Whangarei CBD in the picturesque village of Maungakaramea lays the Stonehaven Retirement Village. We have food choices, meaning if we don't want what they bring us, we can ask for something else. I didn't observe a higher level of care there. They also help those having difficulty with mobility along if they want to go to the lunch room for example.Everything at Stonehaven Assisted Living is really good, and the people are fantastic.

There's no odor or old smell, and I have nothing bad to say about the community. We provide our residents with the independence they need within a caring, relaxed and comforting home environment supported by a 24-hour licensed nursing staff. They have laundry, they bring a DJ to play music suitable for the tenants, they have a nice, little activity room, a library for tenants to use, and mailboxes.I am a friend or relative of a current/past residentStonehaven Assisted Living gave me a warm welcome during my visit. He's in a studio apartment, and they provide three meals a day.

My mother moved into Stonehaven Asst Living before she passed. Stonehaven Assisted Living was fine, and I had no complaints.

The staff is wonderful, very courteous, and always on top of things. Listing it in our directory is free. Rooms are spacious, even the studio's have large closet and full-size refrigerator. This approach enables us to prepare a customized care program to ensure the best possible experience within our community.Within our community, we provide a wide range of services for our residents who can live independently but also require some assistance. Every holiday, they have something special going on, like the other day they had the Jailhouse Rock movie shown and then the following day, an Elvis impersonator came in to entertain.

I met the director and the coordinator, they were super people, very nice, warm, and will do everything to help you as much as they can. The nurse gives him his medication. My family and I highly recommend Stonehaven. Housekeeping comes in and cleans the blinds, windows, bathrooms, floors, and carpets.
